I got a job. In a little over a month I'll be moving to Utah to work for Avalanche Software, a video game production studio owned by Disney Interactive. I'll be a story artist working alongside friends and some very talented artists.
As for the cats, they are not going anywhere (aside from their usual ramblings). I'll still continue to post comics on a regular basis, usually six or more times a week. There is also big news on the horizon for Kitteh and Pip, though I'm not sure when I'll be able to announce that.
Also noteworthy, the other day I mentioned an upcoming visit to DC and NYC. I will be visiting this exhibit and reporting on my findings. Will I find an H in Sunrays there? If not, will I leave one? (Probably not, it is Federal Property after all.)(Thanks for the tip, MU23.)
Finally, it looks like paypal has properly fed the hamster powering their engines, so a few more signed copies of the book will be available here tonight, 9pm Eastern.

Congratulations! How fun! I hope your move and everything goes really smoothly and easily.
ReplyDeleteNeato! Good luck with the move.
ReplyDeleteYay! Congrats, Ape Lad!

ReplyDeleteDavid, #14
Good job on the good job! Florida to Utah, eh? Good luck on the climate/culture shock!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Ape Lad! You deserve the very best; good friends, talented artists and creative work sure sounds like a great start. (Halfway to the left coast, too!) :~)
ReplyDelete::thud:: Such enormous news! Wonderful for you -- so happy to hear that you've got a job that sounds so terrific for you!
ReplyDeleteOf course, I'm fascinated by the big news for K&P too and can't wait to hear.
You'll finally get some of that snow you've been missing! Yay for you!!
congrats! just be aware that there is no air up there, and until you get used to it, you'll huff and puff like you have emphesyma.
ReplyDeleteI am bemused and amused that the NSA has a hobo exhibit.
moar K&P news! do want!
Congratulations Adam! That's great news.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Full of win!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Win! You has them all!
ReplyDeleteCongrats and welcome to SLC! Drop a note if you need tips, directions, etc.

Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteMake sure to wave from the boxcar if you happen to pass by!
Your style couldn't fit any more perfectly with Avalanche. Sounds like a great fit and a great job, congratulations!
ReplyDeleteWow! Excellent work, Koford. Weren't you just saying that you wished you could wear something other than shorts and a tshirt?
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Adam. I can't wait to see what you manage to do for the House of Mouse. Of course, you won't have Disney World so nearby for inspiration, but the Mormon temples tend to look a lot like Cinderella's castle, anyway.
ReplyDeleteBTW, when and where will you be appearing in DC & NYC? I'm nearest DC now but I'm originally from NYC. I thought you might be appearing at the NY Comic Con, but that's not until 4/18-20.
Grest news, Adam.
ReplyDeleteHere's my favorite avalanche photo.
Cheers,
P.R.
Thanks a lot everybody!
ReplyDeleteSubspace, I think I wonder if they'll at least let me weay pajamas. Probly not.
License Farm, I'll just be there on vacation. I haven't quite figured out the whole convention circuit thing. I should look into it though.
Prof, I see what you did there. ;-)
Congrats! Selfishly, I hope you will be able to keep publishing your grandfather's work. I loves me some Pip & Kitteh!
ReplyDeleteThis must be what they mean by "do what you love and the money will follow."
Woo Hoo!! Hey, if you ever come to Glendale for a project...look me up, I'm the facilities supervisor for DIS...welcome aboard!
ReplyDeleteIzzit "Kitteh & Pip -- teh Game"?
ReplyDeleteOh yes!
ReplyDeleteSounds exciting and fun (profitable too we hope) - congratulations Apelad.
It could have been the end for Kitteh and Pip but no... you will continue to feed our obsession and are dangling 'Big News'. Your fans will be salivating in ant-i-ci-pationnnn.
congrats on the job, Adam. im proud of you and I don't even know you. goodness gracious.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Adam!
ReplyDeleteLike everyone else I'm anxious to hear the big Kitteh and Pip news.
Congratulations, Mr. Lad. May your family prosper in health, wealth, and love.
ReplyDeleteI'm also hoping the Kitteh & Pip news is a syndication or merchandising deal.
Plushies! Please say it's plushies! Is it plushies? I hope it's plushies.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! That's excellent news, though I'm sad to such a creative mind leaving Florida. When will the brain drain stop?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Adam! Good luck in Utah and your future endeavors! Wishing you the best from Houston, Tx.
ReplyDeleteNO WAY!
ReplyDeleteI'm from Utah originally. I just spent three months there last fall for some of the research I was doing on my sabbatical (I'm writing a book on literary treatments of an event in Utah history---this is very far afield from my regular scholary/writing interests).
It is a beautiful place. I miss it every single day of my life. I'm actually trying to find a job there myself so I can move back. I've lived outside of Utah for half my life now, so I have some distance and perspective on the bad elements of the local culture.
I'm so envious. I'm completely nostalgic for the place. In fact, I've been wanting to order a Kitteh and Pip comic with a special request to feature a particular Utah location. And now, maybe someday I can even take you to this beautiful, wonderful, magical spot where wild horses still roam free.
Awesome, Adam! Can't work to see the great work you'll be doing there.
ReplyDeleteAlso, really excited about anything involving Kitteh and Pip.
Big congratulations!
+1 on the plushies.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Adam!
ReplyDeleteGood luck.. but... aaaaaaaargh!
ReplyDeleteI've just bought my comic and there weren't any signed ones left... :-( :-)
Oh well, I that's the way teh bindle unfurls.

Hey, congrats Adam! Hope you'll still have time to update the cats :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you, Adam. Sounds like really nifty news!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to meeting you once you get here to Avalanche, make sure you make your way upstairs and say hello to the concept department :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I think you can probably get away with the pajamas. If not we can always riot.
Thanks, Tom, I will. I didn't even know there was an upstairs!
