follow up notes
Sorry* to keep bringing this up, but as you can see here, this shirt is doing really well in this week's woot derby. Take a moment to vote if you haven't yet (if you don't mind). Voting is open for another 36 hours, and winners are announced Thursday night.
Also, if you get a chance to play Cars 2: the Video Game, let me tell you about my favorite part. On the Italian tracks (AKA Porta Corsa), you can bust through a window and drive through a casino. But instead of speeding through, stop your car and check out the painting on the ceiling in the room. It's by Avalanche concept artist Sam Nielsen, whose work you can see here. Hopefully he'll post it on his blog in the future.
Also Avalanche related, here's a peek at one facet of my job. Writing and recording. This developer's diary includes some of the people I work with, including the amazingly talented Casey Nelson, with whom I've shared an office for the past 6 months or so.
I'm not sure how many of the 4,000 lines of dialogue I wrote, but I know I've heard them all several times each, and can even mimic some of them pretty accurately. Listen closely for one of the oil rigs to yell "LAME." I may have written that line.
*I'm not actually sorry to keep bringing this up, and I am extremely grateful to everyone who has taken the time to vote, blog, tumbl, tweet, and share this silly thing.

Notes and Votes
I had a big old post with several links to various projects and things going on, but all the words were eaten somewhere between flickr and blogger.
Here's a quick version:
The image above is up for voting at shirt.woot. You can vote for it if you've ever purchased anything from any woot site before. Here's the link. You may have seen this posted on boingboing. I highly recommend reading the comments which accompany the post. Very funny stuff therein.
Cars 2, the Video Game comes out this Tuesday. It's my third (official) credit in the industry, and a fantastic game. It has pretty much ruined me for any other racing game.
Unicorn City, a film upon which I did some early concept work, was shown at Philadelphia Comic-Con this weekend, and will be shown elsewhere. I also designed the type in the opening credits, the Taco Shop sign, the Waffle and Wok restaurant sign, and some t-shirts. The film's hilarious, and I hope you get a chance to see it.
Finally, if you've ordered a comic from apelad.etsy.com, it's on the way, including the special orders (some of which will show up on the blog this week).
Thanks again for visiting, for voting, and for supporting my meanderings. I get emails all the time from people who learn about my stuff from their friends, and I hope you all know I'm grateful.

Tonight on shirt.woot
You can get this charming fellow I drew on a shirt at shirt.woot.com for $10* via this link.
While you're there, why not vote for the previously blogged design I posted here the other day?
*It's only $10 till tomorrow night, then it goes up to $15. Still a bargain, especially when you consider how soft and luxurious it is.

Laugh-Out-Loud Cats #1709
I forgot to post this one here the other night. Thanks for the reminder, #19!

Admirable Ack-Bo
Here's my latest entry in the weekly shirt.woot derby. Click here to vote if you are so inclined (and if you've ever bought anything from any of the woot sites before).
Also! The third video game upon which I have worked is about to be released into the wild! Cars 2, it's called. It's very fun, and even in 3D if you have the proper equipment.
And finally! Original comics are still available for purchase. The next several comics (and a few from this week) were specially created for good people just like you.

Laugh-Out-Loud Cats #1703
Hey, it worked!
This is last night's comic. The hidden message is only there because it's Hodgman's birthday, not because I'm trying to foment an uprising.
Also: the Laugh-Out-Loud Cats turned 4 the other day and I forgot to mention it. Thanks for 4 great years. Here's to lots more.

Mashed Potatoes of the Third Kind
This is a test to see if flickr and blogger are once again on speaking terms.

Notes and Votes
As some of you may have seen, blogger's acting a bit odd*. I drew, then forgot to post, a comic last night. It's on flickr, but flickr and blogger aren't talking at the moment, so I'll post it later.
In the meantime, here are some shirt designs I have up for voting on shirt.woot.com. If you've ever purchased anything from woot, you can vote.
The theme this week is anthropomorphized food:
Here's the first. I posted a sketch of this a few weeks ago, not knowing I'd be able to use it for something else.
Internet slang and double entendre!
I'm pretty sure the food pyramid is officially out of service, and this is probably why.
And finally, something that makes my aching fingers squeal with glee. I actually had to give up this game a long time ago when it started destroying all of my free time.
*The RSS feeds for a couple of my favorite blogs, Superpunch and Dinosaurs and Robots both went all wonky. Superpunch filled up my reader with a mommy blog of some sort, and D&R had an something in Italian all over the place.
