I saw him play once, in St. Louis in 1994. That day my interest in sports was awakened.
The next day it was quickly snuffed out, never to return.

I got to see the Harlem Globetrotters a few years ago, and was disappointed to discover that I was not getting to see those that I considered THE Harlem Globetrotters -- the ones that showed up on Gilligan's Island and Scooby Doo, the ones had their own show, for crying out loud!
ReplyDeleteOf course, when I thought about it, it made sense that it wasn't the same guys, but it was still disappointing.
Not that the the new guys didn't put on a good show, they were superb. Just not the personalities I was expecting.
I remember having that feeling too, but at least Meadowlark was there.
